Classes are located at 70 Bowen Drive, Guelph, Ontario, N1E 7M2.

 
 
 
 
Class Outline
 
Class #1: Labour and birth pain, Hormones of birth, Relaxation and Breathing, Guided Relaxation and Visualization.  Please bring 3 pillows and a blanket to class.
 
Class #2:  Stages and Phases of Labour.  Tasks of Labour.  Managing the tasks of Labour.  Beginning outline of birth plan.
 
Class #3:  Posterior Babies.  Practice massage for labour, back labour techniques, position changes for labour.  Complications of labour and delivery.  Please bring 2 pillows to class.
 
Class #4: Understanding medical interventions. Pros and cons discussed and explanations given of: fetal monitoring techniques, epidurals, narcotics, laughing gas, induction techniques, and cesarean sections. 
 
Class #5:  Breastfeeding basics - understanding latch, milk supply, positioning, benefits.  More advanced breastfeeding topics also: starting solids, common difficulties, and pumping, based on parent's questions.

Class #6 :  Diapering, night time parenting, baby-wearing.  Parenting questions answered.



Cost
  $150 per couple
